Performance Projection Tool

Overview
For pre-silicon companies, where HAPS and other hardware prototyping solutions can be expensive, Whileone has indigenously developed a CPU Instructions Per Cycle (IPC) projection tool that helps estimate and optimize processor efficiency. This tool analyzes workload characteristics to predict IPC under different conditions, aiding in performance tuning and architectural decisions for hardware and software teams.

Key Features
Workload and
Architecture Selection
The tool allows users to predict the performance of various applications.
The tool has a "New Architecture" option, which suggests it can accommodate custom or yet-to-be-released CPU designs.
Analysis before tapeout
This feature is crucial for Platform engineers who need to evaluate the performance of new architectures before they are physically built.
Data-Driven
Predictions
The tool requires users to capture and upload hardware PMU counters as CSV files

The predictions are not based on a static model but are driven by specific workload data provided by the user.
Final Results and Accuracy Metrics
The "Final Results for IPC" section, highlights the tool's ability to present a final predicted IPC score and Predicted Score.
